Seagate 7200.12 head collaboration

April 23rd, 2024, 18:55

Hi there,

I have a 7200.12 Barracuda, I swapped the head and now it starts clicking and spinning down, I assume that it needs to do a head collaboration.
Anyone can give an idea about it?

Thanks

Why you swapped head?

It was clicking, not getting detected.

If its clicking the heads can't read from the service area, so either the heads are not compatible, there is surface damage on the platter that has killed the new heads, or your head swapping skills need some improvement.
