Does anyone have a Western Digital Helium drive ROM bin file

April 8th, 2024, 2:38

hello community!

I'm after some rom files from any Western Digital Helium drive. Old or New if anyone can share. I've been researching seagate helium drives which play a bit nicer and now I want to research a modern WD helium drive.

Plenty of ROMs and research here:

Here is my tool for parsing these ROMs:

Analysis of WD/HGST firmware updates for Vela and He14 families (SATA and SAS):

I have written a tool to extract the CPs from the updates:

Thank you for sharing, I spent many hours reading through it and it answered a lot of my questions. You have done a lot of grinding and chipping away. Well done. I am very interested in any helium feedback/closed loop stuff and I see you have made attempts to address that aswell. If I learn anything useful I will contribute it to these links.

The following threads were an attempt to convert between generic and OEM firmware. We failed (probably because we missed something obvious), but we managed to dump the SA modules during the course of the investigation.
